St. Louis Zoo
3/2/15
We went to the St. Louis Zoo on a day that it was not very crowded. Many of the animals seemed to not be as "bothered" by large amounts of people constantly surrounding them and tapping on glass. Therefore, I feel as though they were more playful and outgoing around us which was very different from how I was used to seeing them.

ORANGUTANS |
These Orangutans were wrestling around with this yellow ball, and I thought it was a good picture because of the contrast of color all around. The colors of the blankets, ball, and Orangutans really contrasts the grey, rocky background.

GORILLA |
This Gorilla stared me down for a good few minutes, allowing me to get a few shots of his serious facial expression. He seemed to be standing his ground as he ate and held onto the rope.
|
ZEBRAS |
The Zebras were very close to the edge of their enclosed environment that was open for people to look at them. This allowed me to photograph them close up. The snow created a unique background that makes the Zebras stand out.

JAGUAR |
This Jaguar was the coolest animal I got to photograph. I was so fortunate that it was so close to the edge of its cage instead of hiding somewhere on that beautiful cage. It seemed to not even notice my presence as it continued to look into the open with that dominating stance.

ORANGUTANS |
Orangutans are very playful and fun to watch. Once a few of them were done playing with a ball, this one sprawled out in a more relaxed way while holding onto a rope with his foot.
